International Conference Workshop at the Building Centre, 3-5 March 2011

Sir Peter Cook, Chuck Hoberman, Amanda Levete and Donald Ingber are among the keynote speakers at Adaptive Architecture, a three day international conference and workshop exploring advances in adaptive technology and its contribution to a more responsive and sustainable architecture.

The conference, organised by The Building Centre and the University of Nottingham, will bring together researchers and practitioners from around the world to share knowledge in this developing area of building design.

Day one will be devoted to Dynamic Facades and Transformable Structures, day two will focus on Bio-Mimetics and Intelligent Controls, and day three is an optional workshop looking at Adaptive Architecture and Inhabitation.

Other confirmed participants include Alex de Rijke of drMM, Stefan Rutzinger of soma, Paul Westbury of Buro Happold and Alex Haw of Atmos, and the conference will present research from TU Delft, RMIT in Australia, the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Art, Aarhus School of Architecture, the University of Michigan and ETH Zürich.
