Wingårdh Arkitektkontor’s 118-metre high Victoria Tower forms the centrepiece of the Kista IT business park in north-west Stockholm. At the base of the shimmering glass parallelepiped structure is a podium containing a restaurant, bar and conference facilities. On the upper levels are a a 229-room hotel, offices and a skybar. The top third of the tower takes the form of a rectangular cuboid which projects out over the shaft below.
The curtain wall facades comprise triangular panels, with eight different types of metal-coloured glass used to create an apparently random, non-patterned appearance. Thin layers of metal oxide endow the glass with insulating and solar shading properties.
