Sergison Bates has won a competition to design a building of courtyard houses within a new residential development to the east of the city of La Tour-de-Peliz, on Lake LeĢman, Switzerland. The project involves the creation of 210 residential units.
The masterplanner of the lakeside site, Basel-based Christ & Gantenbein, aims to make the project a ‘laboratory for sustainable housing.’ In addition to Sergison Bates, the international team attached to the project includes Alejandro Aravena (Chile), Kersten Geers and David van Severen (Belgium), Johnston Marklee (USA), Aires Mateus (Portugal), Atelier BOW-WOW ( Japan), Lacaton & Vassal (France) and Tatiana Bilbao and Derek Dellenkamp (Mexico). Vogt Landscape Architects will design the landscape. Design is due to commence in October 2010.
