The Rome Prize in Architecture is an exciting opportunity for a young architect to spend three or six months at the British School at Rome. It has been a stepping-stone for many young architects and offers the chance for talented and creative architects to spend time in a challenging and invigorating intellectual environment.
The scholarship which is now funded by donations from former scholars inculding Hugh Petter, Bob Allies and Eric Parry, provides an opportunity to study the contemporary architecture of Rome, as well as its historic context. The prize offers accommodation in a residential studio and board, for three or six months between October 2013 and March 2014. In addition the prize offers a research grant of £700 per month, a group exhibition every three months, and participation in a range of interdisciplinary activities, including a vibrant architecture programme.
The prize is open to young architects; post Part II or early in practice. Applicants must be of British or Commonwealth nationality, or have been working professionally or studying at postgraduate level for the last three years in the UK or Commonwealth.
Applications due before 16th April.
