Rockfon Mono Acoustic provides Class A sound absorption

Rockfon acoustic ceilings have been installed in Preventicum, a new state-of-the-art health assessment clinic in central London. This specialist healthcare company provides bespoke, in-depth health evaluation and diagnostics, including full-body scanning.

High-tech luxury
Sonnemann Toon Architects designed the clinic’s interior with a high-tech spec that has the feel of a luxury hotel. Architect Galina Borovikova explains how Rockfon® Mono® Acoustic helps create a sense of opulence, “It combines the elegance of a seamless ceiling with outstanding sound absorbing qualities. This enhances the sleek interior and creates client privacy.”

Rockfon Mono Acoustic provides a unique solution for ceiling design as it combines high acoustic performance with a smooth, white, seamless surface. The Class A sound absorption of the monolithic ceiling significantly decreases echo and reverberation levels, creating a relaxed environment that optimises confidential communication between doctor and client.

Installation
Rockfon has worked closely with Panarc Interior Solutions for many years and together delivered the finished ceilings. Panarc’s Business Development Manager Daniel Davies explains, “We’ve always worked well with Rockfon and find that their products are easy to fit and always look good. For this project, acoustics were a key factor in choosing the ceilings, along with visual appearance and cleanability for the medical areas. Rockfon fitted the brief perfectly.” The supplier was CCF Harmondsworth in West Drayton, London.

Rockfon Blanka dB 46 ceiling in the MRI suite

Hygienic and tough
The Class A sound absorption of Rockfon® MediCare® helps create a comfortable atmosphere in the clinic’s medical assessment rooms. Stringent hygiene requirements made Rockfon MediCare the obvious choice. Its highly durable, easy-to-clean surface is resistant to MRSA and other micro-organisms, making it fully compliant with HBN 00-10 Part B walls and ceilings, and HTM 08-01 acoustics for healthcare environments.

Rockfon’s Chicago Metallic™ Alu 740 aluminium grid has non-magnetic properties which is why it is was chosen for the Rockfon® Blanka® dB 46 ceiling in the MRI suite. Collins Construction Project Manager Darren Knott is impressed with the ceiling’s performance, “The ceiling helps prevent sound generated by the two MRI scanners from disturbing the radiographers and travelling to neighbouring rooms.”

Rockfon Blanka maximses daylighting, contributing to energy savings

For the waiting room and circulation areas, the architect designed open and light spaces. Here the smooth, deep matt, super white surface of Rockfon® Blanka® helps create bright, comfortable environments. The ceilings’ 87 per cent light reflection and 99 per cent diffusion maximise daylight and contribute to energy savings.

Superior safety
All Rockfon ceiling products are manufactured from stone wool, making them non-combustible. This is why they achieve the highest and safest reaction to fire rating, A1. They are also durable, cost-effective to maintain, and enhance any interior design.
